The Middlethorpe Spa, which opened in 1999 has been built behind the facade of a pair of Edwardian cottages in the lane opposite the hotel. It offers residential guests of the Hotel and members of the Spa Club up to date Health, Beauty and Fitness facilities.

The Centrepiece of the Spa is the inviting 40' by 20' by 4'6" deep swimming pool. Next to the pool are the whirlpool spa bath, steam room, sauna, and comfortable reclining chairs for guests to relax at the edge of the pool.

Three beauty salons are staffed by qualified therapists and offer a variety of treatments using Clarins, E'SPA, and other products and there is a small Club room serving drinks, light refreshments, and snacks. In the Club Room guests enjoy a chance to read newspapers and to socialise with other club members. In the garden close by, in a restored Victorian summer-house, is the exercise room with a programmable bicycle, rowing machine, cross trainer and treadmill. Staff are available to advise on their use. The Spa is open to resident guests and Club members and spa pamper days are available for non-residents.
