Middlethorpe Hall, Restaurant and Spa invites you to a Musical Afternoon
Middlethorpe Hall, Hotel, Restaurant and Spa, just outside York will be holding what is planned to be the start of a regular and exciting programme of Musical Afternoons beginning on Sunday 19th September.
This splendid musical diversion will start with afternoon tea and Champagne at 3pm, and will be followed by a classical recital by Andrew O'Brien (tenor) and Cameron Burns (piano), with a selection of songs by Schubert, Vaughan-Williams and Britten.
The music planned is as follows:
Beethoven - Adelaide, op. 46
Schubert - Ganymed, op. 19
Schubert - Nacht und Traume, op. 43
Schubert - An Sylvia, op. 106, no. 4
Britten - Canticle No. 1, op. 40 ("My beloved is mine")
Interval
Quilter - Oh mistress mine, op. 6
Quilter - Now sleeps the Crimson petal, op. 3
Vaughan-Williams - Extracts from Songs of Travel
Britten - Folk Songs
